The Opioid Crisis and Its Impact

A lecture on the impact of the opioid crisis in our community, presented by Matthew F. Warren MD, Medical Director of Chemical Dependency at NYC Health and Hospitals/ Woodhull Hospital in Brooklyn.

Dr. Warren will review his experiences and the factors which make this crisis so prevalent as well as the current developing methods for treatment.

His speech will be followed by a presentation from Dr. Taki, Medical Director of Greenwich House MMTP. She will present some real world examples of struggles and triumphs of families battling with opioid use disorder, the effect having a parent with substance use disorder can have on children, and ways in which parents can be supported in order to provide the healthiest possible environment for their children.
